Short History

The Santa Maria Coin Club was organized in February 1957 by several men and women after serving in the armed forces.  Original members included Jay Grose, Bill Sexton, Clyde and T. Billings, Ed and Marge Fitzimmons and Jack Lema.  Bill Sexton was known as the “Penny King” because he had a room full of itemized pennies.
The Santa Maria Coin Club is a local Non-Profit organization.  This club is organized for the purpose of stimulating interest in Numismatics, cultivating friendly, and mutually beneficial relations, provide a medium of exchange of interests, information and material among its members, and to further encourage, and assist all members.
